TENDER SUPPORT THROUGH LIFE’S MOST SACRED TRANSITIONS
Compassionate end-of-life guidance, Animal Reiki, grief support, and meaningful remembrance for companion animals and the people who love them.
You Do Not Have to Walk This Path Alone
The final season of an animal’s life can hold profound love alongside uncertainty, fear, tenderness, and grief. Familiar routines may begin to change. Decisions can feel impossibly heavy. Even before a death occurs, you may find yourself grieving what is changing while trying to remain present for the time you still share.
After a loss, love continues—but the shape of the relationship changes. You may need somewhere to bring the questions, memories, sorrow, relief, guilt, or gratitude that follow.
Tender Transitions offers compassionate support before, during, and after the death of a beloved animal. Together, we can create space for comfort, clarity, presence, grief, ritual, and remembrance—always guided by what feels meaningful to you and respectful of your companion.
Honoring the Bond Through Change
End-of-life care is not only about preparing for death. It is also about tending to the life, relationship, and ordinary moments that remain.
There is no perfect way to move through this season. Some families want help understanding what to expect and preparing for difficult decisions. Some seek quiet support during a vigil or euthanasia appointment. Others need space to grieve, create a ritual, or find an enduring way to honor the life they shared
Support within this pathway may help you:
Clarify your wishes, priorities, and questions
Prepare for changes that may occur near the end of life
Create a comfort-focused plan for your companion and household
Feel more grounded before or during a euthanasia appointment
Offer your animal calm, noninvasive Reiki support
Acknowledge anticipatory grief before a death occurs
Create rituals that reflect your beliefs and relationship
Receive compassionate support after a loss
Preserve memories and honor the ways your bond continues
You do not need to have the right words, know exactly what you need, or hold a particular spiritual belief.
We begin wherever you are.

End of Life Planning & Doula Care
Compassionate guidance for the decisions and moments ahead
End-of-life doula care provides a steady, nonjudgmental place to explore your companion’s changing needs, your family’s wishes, and the questions that often accompany this season.
Support may include comfort and quality-of-life planning, preparation for euthanasia or natural death, family conversations, vigil planning, practical resources, and guidance for creating a peaceful environment.
This care complements—but does not replace—the medical guidance of your veterinary team.

Animal Reiki During Transition
Quiet presence for animals and the people beside them
Animal Reiki offers gentle, noninvasive support for companions experiencing aging, illness, discomfort, change, or the final stage of life. Sessions are animal-led, allowing your companion to participate from wherever and however they choose.
Reiki can also create a calm, intentional space for the people who love them. It may be offered as ongoing support, during a sacred vigil, around the time of euthanasia, or as part of a shared reflective experience.
-

Pet Loss & Grief Support
A compassionate place for everything grief may hold
Pet loss grief is real, complex, and deeply personal. It may begin long before a death and continue to change long after others expect life to have returned to normal.
Individual and community offerings provide space to speak freely, remember your companion, explore difficult emotions, and feel less alone. Support is available for anticipatory grief, recent or past loss, disenfranchised grief, and the many relationships and circumstances that can complicate mourning.
-

Rituals, Memorials & Remembrance
Meaningful ways to honor a life and an enduring bond
Ritual can give shape to what the heart is carrying. It may mark an approaching transition, surround a death with intention, honor a beloved life, or create a continuing place for memory and connection.
Together, we can create a private ritual, legacy project, vigil, altar, memorial, celebration of life, or community ceremony that reflects your companion, your relationship, and your beliefs. These experiences may be simple and intimate or shared with a larger circle of loved ones.
What Kind of Support Do You Need Right Now?
Care Rooted in Presence, Choice & Compassion
Every animal, person, family, and relationship is different. Tender Transitions does not follow a prescribed script or impose a particular understanding of death, grief, spirituality, or what happens after a life ends.
My role is not to make decisions for you or tell you how this experience should look. I offer a calm presence, thoughtful guidance, practical preparation, and compassionate space in which you can discover what feels right for your companion and family.
Companion-Centered
Your animal’s comfort, preferences, dignity, and agency remain at the heart of the care offered throughout this journey.
Family-Guided
Your values, beliefs, culture, relationships, resources, and circumstances help shape the support we create together.
Practical and Sacred
Clear planning and practical information can exist beside Reiki, reflection, ritual, and reverence. Each may offer a different kind of steadiness.
Compassionate and Free of Judgment
There is no perfect way to face death or carry grief. All loving relationships are welcome, and you will never be asked to prove the depth of your bond.
You Do Not Have to Know What Comes Next
You may not know which service fits, whether it is too early to seek support, or how to put what you are experiencing into words. You may only know that your companion is changing—or that life without them feels different from anything you expected.
You are welcome to reach out exactly as you are. We can begin with what is happening now and identify the kind of support that may feel most helpful. When veterinary, mental health, or other professional care is needed, I will honor the limits of my role and help you consider appropriate resources.
Love Remains Part of the Story
There is no way to make losing a beloved companion easy. There are, however, ways to move through this season with greater support, intention, and tenderness.
We can make room for the practical decisions and the sacred moments. For the grief that begins before goodbye and the love that continues afterward. For laughter alongside tears, relief alongside sorrow, and memories that remain woven into the life you continue to live.
Your companion’s story is worthy of being held with care. So is yours.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
You do not need to wait until a crisis or a final decision has been made. Some families seek support when an animal is diagnosed with a serious illness, begins showing age-related changes, or enters hospice care. Others reach out when euthanasia is approaching, after a death, or whenever the emotional and practical weight of the experience begins to feel difficult to carry alone.
-
No. A companion animal end-of-life doula does not diagnose illness, provide medical treatment, prescribe medication, or make medical decisions. Doula care complements your veterinary team by offering emotional support, preparation, education, planning, ritual, and compassionate presence.
-
I cannot make that decision for you, but I can help you explore your concerns, values, observations, and questions. We can organize information, discuss quality-of-life considerations, and help you prepare for a conversation with your veterinarian, who is responsible for providing medical guidance.
-
When circumstances and the veterinary provider allow, Reiki may be offered before, during, or after euthanasia as a quiet, noninvasive form of support. Your companion is never required to remain still or interact, and the medical team’s needs and instructions always take priority.
-
No. All beliefs—including uncertainty or no spiritual belief—are welcome. Rituals and reflective practices are shaped around what feels meaningful and authentic to you. Nothing will be imposed upon your experience.
-
Yes. Support may include individual grief care, pet loss support groups, private rituals, memorials, celebrations of life, legacy projects, altars, and other forms of remembrance. It is never too late to honor an animal or seek support for a loss.
-
Some planning, grief-support, Reiki, remembrance, and ritual services can be offered virtually. In-person doula care, euthanasia attendance, vigils, and ceremonies are available within the Denver-area service region, with possible travel fees outside the standard area.
Begin Wherever You Are
Whether you are preparing for a change, living through the final chapter, grieving a death, or seeking a meaningful way to remember, you and your companion will be met with tenderness, respect, and care.
